Luis Lara


Luis has a degree in Business and Law from ICADE – Universidad Pontificia de Comillas de Madrid and has completed a Management Development Program at ESADE Business School and the General Management Program at IESE Business School, both in Barcelona.

He has been working in the fashion and retail sector for more than 20 years. He has had executive responsibilities in important companies in this sector, in addition to providing advice to retail and fashion companies in their international development.

Luis has worked at The Walt Disney Co. as Zone Director in his retail organization in Spain. During these years, there was the great development of the chain of stores “Disney Stores” in the streets and main shopping centers. He was one of the four international directors of Inditex between 2000 and 2006, participating in the development of Zara and the rest of the brands in the regions of Central Europe, North and East, Middle East, Latin America and Asia. He is currently Managing Partner of Retalent, a company specialized in advising on the development and internationalization of fashion and retail brands.

He is the author of the book “Why some stores sell and others do not: keys to success in retail” (2012) and its update “Why some stores sell and others not in the digital age” (2018).
