Corporate General Manager of GRUPO CORTEFIEL.
Responsible for the Corporate Area of the Group that encompasses, among others, the Institutional and Development activities and corporate projects, Social Responsibility and Communication. Director by the Cortefiel Group in investees and subsidiaries. Grupo Cortefiel, a company founded in 1880, is one of the leading specialized fashion brand distribution companies in Europe and has a presence in more than 80 countries through 2000 points of sale and digital stores.
He is currently President and interlocutor before the European Commission and Parliament of the European Branded Clothing Alliance, an association that incorporates the main global textile distribution brands (Nike, H & M, Inditex, Desigual, Levi’s, Ralph Lauren, VF Corporation , PVH and Grupo Cortefiel among others) with presence or origin in the continent and whose headquarters are in Brussels. He is also a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the RSC Commission of ANGED, employer of the large distribution companies, which includes entities such as El Corte Inglés, Carrefour, Alcampo, Apple Stores, Eroski, Leroy Merlin, Ikea and Grupo Cortefiel among others.
He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Leading Brands of Spain Forum, a public-private entity promoting the development and internationalization of the major Spanish brands and its Strategy Committee.
Ignacio is a lawyer, has an Executive MBA from the IE Business School and Financial Analyst, he began his professional career in the business world in the Mapfre Group in 1993 until joining the GRUPO CORTEFIEL in 2000. He is a PhD candidate at the UPM, professor and a regular collaborator in Universities and Business Schools in the areas of Strategy, Internationalization, M & A, Financial Communication and Fashion and CSR.
