The University of Piura´s (UDEP) School of Communication, a reference in higher education in Peru, has signed an agreement with ISEM Fashion Business School-University of Navarra to offer a joint program of “Experto en Marketing y Comunicación de Moda”, which It will start teaching in the spring of 2023.
The Dean of ISEM, Teresa Sádaba, highlights: “This alliance with the University of Piura offers us the possibility of working together in the training of future Peruvian fashion entrepreneurs and communicators. Peru is an emerging market in the fashion industry, with very good producers, and it will need well-prepared professionals in the coming years”.
The program will be taught online by professors from UDEP and ISEM and is aimed at students of Communication and other careers at UDEP, as well as from other universities in Peru and Latin America. It will address topics such as fashion and culture, art direction, sustainability, issues related to business, consumer, digital strategy of fashion brands, etc. To facilitate the entry into the labor market for students.
As Sandra Orejuela, dean of the UDEP School of Communication, points out, “we are very happy to be the first at the national level to offer this program with international certification, aimed at undergraduate students. We are sure that this proposal, which encompasses the essential knowledge and trends in the sector, will be an added value in the training of those interested in an increasingly dynamic and growing industry, such as Fashion in Peru and Latin America”.
ISEM- Universidad de Navarra was born in Madrid in 2001 and is the first Business School specialized in fashion companies in the world, a benchmark in the training of professionals in the sector. It has its own faculty, and also from IESE Business School-University of Navarra, specialists from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York, SDA Bocconi in Milan, the Institut Français de la Mode (IFM) in Paris, and professionals from different fields of the fashion industry.
For its educational quality, it has received various awards, such as the Spanish National Fashion Award for the Academy and Culture (2016) or the fact that the American magazine The Education Magazine included ISEM among the ten best business schools to study an MBA.
